Customer and project roles are a great tool for example for allocating assignments to your employees. You can for example define roles for accountant and payroll specialist and each employee will only get assignments that are related to their role. Customer and project roles can be found from the "Users" page in settings on the "Customer roles" tab. If this tab is not visible, it means that the function has not been activated for your Koho account. If you would like to activate it, contact our customer service at asiakaspalvelu@kohosales.com.
You can add new customer and project roles from the "+Add" button. If you choose the "Portal" field, the role is also visible in the Koho Portal.
Adding customer and project roles to responsibilities
You can add customer and project roles on the customer and project forms on the "Contacts and responsibilities" (customers) or "Participants" tab (projects). Role is added to the responsible's or participant's "Role" column.

Adding customer and project roles using the "Responsibilities" matrix
If you want to add several customer or project roles at the same time, you can do it easily on the "Responsibilities" matrix on the "Customers" section. Filter the matrix by role in order to see the customer roles. If you want to also see project roles, choose the "Projects" option.
Click on the "+" sign on the customer's or project's row to add a role.
On the new window choose the employee and the role you want to add. Note that the employee will also be set as responsible for the customer or project, if they were not responsible before.
Using customer and project roles
You can use customer and project roles to allocate assignments to customer or project responsibilities with a specific role. This is done on the assignment template's "Employees" section. In the example below, only customer responsibilities with the role "Accountant" are allocated for the assignment.
