Working time types are used with the work-time clock to track working time for different purposes. Working time types are managed in settings on the "Users" page. Go to the "Shifts" tab and click the "Types" button.

On the new window there is a matrix where you can see all working time types for your company and edit them. If you want to create a new type, click the "+Add" button and define settings for the new type. If you want to delete a working time type, choose the "Delete" option and the working type is deleted as you click the "Save" button. The "Code" field can be used if the working time entries are transferred to another system.

You can define the following settings for the working time type:

  • Accumulation: You can define whether the type accumulates flexitime.
  • Clock card: You can define whether the working time type is shown on the work-time clock in the timetracking section of Koho.
  • Hidden: If this is selected, working time type is not shown on the timetracking section and employees cannot track working time for this type.
  • Excluded from the daily/weekly overtime: The working time type is not included in the daily or weekly overtime.
  • At work: As a default all working types are set to be "At work" meaning that they track working time. If you want to use Koho to track something else than working time (like work trips) you can unselect this field.
  • Away: This selection defines whether the employee is at work or not. This selection is made e.g. for holidays.
  • All day: With this selection, all entries for this working time type are automatically matched to the working hour target of the employee.
  • Administration validation: If this setting is selected, all entries appear on the holiday calendar where they can be accepted or discarded.
  • Alignment: If your company is using workday alignment, with this selection you can define whether entries for this selection are taken into account when doing the alignment.

Under the working type matrix you can find additional selections that can be used to link working time types to different functions. Before you make any changes to these definitions, we recommend that you contact our customer service at asiakaspalvelu@kohosales.com.
